You will start discovering the Itria Valley, including the visit to the characteristic villages of Martina Franca and Locorotondo and an e-bike ride through the Aqueduct Cycle Route, surrounded by breath-taking glimpses of rare beauty. Passing through the suggestive bridges and channels of the aqueduct, admiring Trulli, dry-stone walls and typical rural architectures of Puglia. The tour is an exciting experience in the heart of a wonderful land. The trip becomes more “tasty” thanks to the chance to taste a typical product of the area that is the fried panzerotto, a delicacy stuffed with mozzarella and tomato.
The tour is available in Italian or English. With adequate notice and, on request, it is possible to take tours in other languages and at extra cost.
Private tour on request for at least 10 people
Duration: about 5-6 hours, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The first town to be visited is Martina Franca, unique example of the baroque city of the Itria Valley, famous for the Festival dedicated to this area of Puglia, an international event that recalls, every year, artists and lyric music lovers from all over the world.
Here, you will visit its characteristic historic centre to admire the stately and exclusive palaces and the majestic Minor Basilica of St. Martin, which represents the highest example of the Baroque architecture in Martina Franca.
After the visit of Martina Franca, everyone climbs onto the e-bike’s saddle to ride through the splendid Itria Valley’s landscape, until you reach the Aqueduct Cycle Route, a bike path realized following the steps of the main channel of the Apulian Aqueduct.
Surrounded by a fascinating nature, enhanced by the unique Mediterranean scrub, alternating with cultivated fields. This will be the chance to immerse yourself in a very suggestive context.
Once completed the Aqueduct Cycle Route, you will reach a masseria to see the process of making panzerotto, one of the most important symbols of the typical Apulian cuisine. You will taste it in all its goodness, accompanied by excellent local wines.
The tour will continue towards Locorotondo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, which owes its name to the characteristic circular shape of its historic centre. Here, it will be possible to admire the typical white houses, called “Cummerse”, small pitched roof houses scattered among the street and squares of the village.
The tour ends with the return to Martina Franca on e-bike, riding through hamlets and country roads.
